The 27th of June can’t come fast enough

TONY Blair’s time has been running out ever since he announced he would not be serving a full third term, as people from within his own party tried to force him out. Now for many of them, the 27th of June can’t come fast enough.

For that is the date, Mr. Blair announced to us today, that he will stand down as Labour leader and as Prime Minister. Gordon Brown is expected to be his successor. Expect more comment later, after I have finished a post assessing the local elections here in Medway.
