Cameron leads calls for General Election

DAVID Cameron yesterday led calls to Prime Minister Gordon Brown to call a General Election.
Speaking on his video weblog WebCameron, the Leader of the Opposition congratulated the new Prime Minister on becoming the most influential man in Britain, then called for an immediate General Election.
An increasing number of people now believe that Mr Brown has no mandate to govern the Country, and Mr Cameron took the opportunity yesterday to be the first leading politician in Britain to challenge Prime Minister Brown.
“I think people should have the opportunity for change – people should be able to vote for change,” Mr Cameron said, “and that’s why we believe that there should be a General Election straight away.
“Gordon Brown doesn’t have the mandate, he wasn’t elected as Prime Minister, and he should go to the country.”
Mr Brown is currently constructing his Cabinet – with an announcement expected within the hour.

Well of course he does. He doesn’t want to be leading the opposition for too long – he wants to lead the country now rather than in 2 years time!
