Francis Maude set to lose out to Spelman

FRANCIS Maude looks set to lose his post as Party Chairman in David Cameron’s Shadow Cabinet reshuffle next week.
Iain Dale has commented in the Daily Telegraph that the Horsham MP will be replaced by Caroline Spelman, speculation which ConservativeHome‘s editor sincerely hopes is wrong.
Iain Dale says that “Cameron sources are anxious to point out that Maude has done a great job but are now moving into election mode and want a different type of ‘front man’, or in this case woman.”
Personally, I fail to see how Francis Maude could be anything but good in election mode, and if he isn’t, how Caroline Spelman would be any better.
It seems David Cameron is prepared to lose one of the best Party officials and that is a great shame.
