Rehman Chishti selected to fight Gillingham and Rainham

RAINHAM Central Councillor Rehman Chishti has been adopted as the Parliamentary Candidate for Gillingham and Rainham.
At a special meeting of the Association on July 1, Reh Chishti received a standing ovation as it was announced he had beaten off competition from over 100 applicants to become Gillingham and Rainham Conservative’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.
Reh Chishti promised that his campaign would start on July 2 as he stood in a dark suit with worn-out, light brown shoes – a trophy of his local election campaigning.
An in-depth interview with Reh Chishti will appear on this blog and the Association website by Wednesday.

Well done, that man!
Although the result is hardly a great surprise, it has to be stated that this is actually a very good decision. What is needed in an MP is someone who genuinely will go out there and “do the business”, and Reh has consistently shown just how prepared he is to do that.
I think this is very much the right decision for the G&R constituency; and he would be a far better MP than Paul Clark has ever been — no contest!
