For many commentators and political journalists, the June defection of Conservative MP Quentin Davies to the Labour Party was nothing but embarrassing for the Conservatives.

However, the move may have come back to haunt the Labour Party as news hit the press that the defector’s niece, 28 year-old Jessica Davies, was being held in solitary confinement in a Parisian police station, suspected of killing 24 year-old Olivier Mugnier during a violent sex game.

The Daily Telegraph was today reporting that the attack may have been inspires by the murder of Meredith Kercher in Italy, which even Miss Davies has referred to.

Unsurprisingly, Quentin is staying tight-lipped about the whole affair.
