In the space of just five days, two Medway branches of the popular fast-food chain McDonald’s have been targeted by armed criminals.
On Wednesday, a 999 call was made at around 10:15, at the same time as a man wielding a gun was reportedly robbing the family-friendly restaurant in Chatham.
Just five days before, two men armed with an axe and sledgehammer made off with around £2,000 from McDonald’s in Strood.
Although police have caught the Chatham robber, they are still looking for the Strood duo.
Anyone with information on either incident should contact Medway Police Station on 01634 792529 or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
When former Democratic Senator John Edwards dropped out of the Presidential race, with 26 pledged delegates, an official two-horse race emerged, in which either Clinton or Obama will be crowned Democratic Presidential Candidate.
Yesterday, having gained just 1 pledged delegate after pinning all his hopes on the State of Florida (and losing), Rudy Giuliani announced that he would also be withdrawing, leaving favourite McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul to battle it out.
One interesting aspect of the events so far is that Clinton won Florida triumphantly, with 50% of the popular vote, but gained a grand total of 0 delegates because the State had infringed Democratic Party rules.
It is also interesting to note that the Republican race is almost already won by McCain, after he took all 57 delegates from Florida. He has, to date, a total of 97 pledged and projected delegates.
In contrast, the Democratic race will not be certain until after Super Tuesday, which makes their contest that little bit more exciting.
