McCain v Clinton, or Obama
When former Democratic Senator John Edwards dropped out of the Presidential race, with 26 pledged delegates, an official two-horse race emerged, in which either Clinton or Obama will be crowned Democratic Presidential Candidate.
Yesterday, having gained just 1 pledged delegate after pinning all his hopes on the State of Florida (and losing), Rudy Giuliani announced that he would also be withdrawing, leaving favourite McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul to battle it out.
One interesting aspect of the events so far is that Clinton won Florida triumphantly, with 50% of the popular vote, but gained a grand total of 0 delegates because the State had infringed Democratic Party rules.
It is also interesting to note that the Republican race is almost already won by McCain, after he took all 57 delegates from Florida. He has, to date, a total of 97 pledged and projected delegates.
In contrast, the Democratic race will not be certain until after Super Tuesday, which makes their contest that little bit more exciting.
