Area Chairman election results

I have just received an email from Michael Rock, the National CF Chairman, with the result of the Kent Area Chairman election at the first NME meeting yesterday.

Suffice to say I was not elected as Chairman. Matthew Doy was the successful candidate, and I send my congratulations to him.

It was recommended, however, that I be on the Kent Executive, but we shall have to wait and see what Mr Doy chooses to do now.

Never mind matey. Good luck with the Executive (whatever that may be!). :)

It really doesn’t bother me – it is, in some ways, a relief. When I applied, I had no idea what I was going to be doing after Sixth Form. Now I know that I will be going to University, I need to spend the next couple of months working extra-hard to ensure I get there, then all the time I have thereafter working (whilst trying to fit in as much campaigning as possible), so Area Chairman wouldn’t exactly have been useful in all this.

However, the Executive is basically the committee which runs the show. It will normally have Deputy Chairmen, Treasurers, Secretaries etc. to help the Chairman run the Area successfully.

Ah right. Well, nice one, whatever happens!
