“If you’re feeling energetic”, he says

More leafleting for me today as I set about continuing to deliver the Gillingham and Rainham Reporter around my part of Twydall.
Once I had completed my last batch of roads, Reh asked me to deliver Eastcourt Lane, preferably all of it, “if you’re feeling energetic”.
I have to admit it, I just laughed the comment off, and agreed to deliver the whole of Eastcourt Lane. Well today was the chosen day to deliver, and almost immediately I began to realise why he had made the energetic quip.
Around 200 houses lie in Eastcourt Lane, of which about one third, or just under, are accessible using sets of steps leading up to them. I hadn’t got half way along the first side before I started feeling tired!
Thankfully, I had chosen to deliver the side with steps galore first, meaning it was a lot easier to deliver the rest of the road – and also meant I could finish a lot more quickly before returning home and collapsing in front of a pile of coursework.
Oh, the fun times I am having at the moment…

Easy way to lose weight though, yes?
Yes, it is indeed.
However, I won’t be able to do much during my five weeks, due to exams.
On the plus side, though, I will be (hopefully) campaigning in RSH over the next few weeks, so I should lose some “on the ground” then…
Ah, we’ll have to get you to deliver to Woodhurst (west side) and both sides of Watson Avenue, on the Davis Estate where I live. No shortage of steps — and slopes where there aren’t steps — along there
Well I noticed (through the BBC) that your road has no shortage of steps either, John.
Thankfully the roads I was delivering at the weekend were quite flat, I really couldn’t have done with tiring myself out on Saturday morning when I had work, followed by an important event (i.e. my Grandparent’s Golden Wedding Anniversary).
The one problem with helping in RSH is getting there. Of course it would have been easy, had I passed my test on Monday. And to think, all it would have taken was a couple of blinks on the indicators and I’d have a full license by now…
Don’t dwell on it. Go out and pass it!!
My road does have a lot of steps up the far (southern) end, but isn’t so bad along the main stretch, especially as there are sections where one can go down one house’s steps, then along three or four properties before having to climb up to the footpath again.
I’m sure either Nick or Sylvia will provide transport for you. I believe you have their contact details already; but, if not, I can provide them.
Well I do have Nick’s mobile number and both their email addresses. Nick said last weekend he would be happy to provide transport, which is useful.
Of course any contact details I didn’t know can easily be found on your website. Or, indeed, mine…
