RSH: Vote Conservative, vote Clarke!
If you are a resident of Rochester South and Horsted then I have a simple message: the polls are now open, go out and vote for positive action!

Your Conservative candidate is hard-working local resident Trevor Clarke, whose mentality and principles are firmly rooted in his faith, and whose determination to achieve something positive for the wider community is unwaivering.
Trevor is taking the common sense approach, leaving petty bickering and attacking the opposition to the opposition, and instead campaigning and working hard for you. Conservatives have an established history of getting their hands dirty to improve communities, and Trevor will be no different.
You’re choice is between voting for a candidate from a party wishing to halt the progress of regeneration and improvement across Medway and voting for a candidate from a party with a proven track record of positive action.
So go out and vote for Trevor Clarke in the Rochester South and Horsted by-election today!

I suppose it is now safe for me to reveal that I had already earmarked Trevor as someone I wanted to be elected for our ward, but hadn’t anticipated it happening quite so soon(!)
His strong faith, organisational and management skills and experience, and willingness just “to do” made him an obvious contender for our large, busy and complex ward. Just as I set things up to “invite” Sylvia to stand last year, so I was preparing (and had done much of the groundwork towards) the ground for Trevor to join us next time.
My blog entry on this is HERE.
Meanwhile, I am still around (but not intrusively, as I shan’t be treading on anyone’s toes — no-one operates in my shadow) as a resource, and depending on the political winds at the time I might put myself forward for selection when the time comes to select candidates for the 2011 local elections in Medway.
Everybody wins — well, apart from the dubious parties, who were thoroughly trounced yesterday.
