Please vote Alan Collins

I’ve got to admit it, I never expected to be asking you to vote for me quite so soon! However, that time has come, and the best news is that you don’t even have to leave your computer to do so!

As one of the blogs in the Total Politics Political Blog Directory, this site is eligible to be voted into the 2008-9 Guide to Political Blogging in the UK‘s Top 100 UK Political Blogs – but I need your votes to make it happen! All it takes is just a few minutes to email your vote.

The full details of how to vote can be found here, but please ensure that you use the name “Alan Collins”, as that is what the blog is entered under in the Directory and that it is high up on your list (as it will get more points that way) – preferably first!

The deadline is August 15 but please make sure you do it carefully – if your vote is cast incorrectly (full guidelines here) it will not be counted.

If you are wondering why to vote for me, then here are just a few reasons:

  1. I provide a healthy mix of local and national news, as well as personal commentary.
  2. I am always here to speak out for things I believe in passionately, even if it (occasionally) goes against the party line.
  3. I am always here to speak up for residents and champion their causes.
  4. My blog has received praise from numerous politicians and is visited frequently from local council and Westminster IP addresses.
  5. My musings are always topical and my arguments are always informed.

Thank you in advance for your support in voting for Alan Collins!

    Yup, I’ve just done that.

It was very tough to pick just ten, especially when Guido, Dale, Dizzy and ConHome were bound to be in my list, leaving just six more slots available…

Follow-up, just in case you wondered…

    I didn’t even vote for me :-)

All of the blogs in my top ten are ones which I visit regularly, which means that as well as the obvious ones (some of which you listed), there are a few Medway-based blogs listed as well.

I would have voted for you, had you told me about this (unfortunatly I don’t read this as much as I used to)

Well, you didn’t get into the Top 100 of all political ‘blogs, but you did reach position 153, which isn’t at all bad. However, if the right-of-centre category you came a very respectable 56th.

    Well done!

Not getting into the Top 100 of all political ‘blogs is not a surprise – however, it was great to be in the Top 100 right-of-centre blogs and the Top 200 of all political blogs, as I found out last night.
