Now here’s a nice cheerful story to beat away the woes of the day

If you are feeling a bit down at the moment because of the credit crunch and economic uncertainty, then maybe this story will cheer you up a little bit.

Albert O’Neill, 84, and Hilda Graves, 81, had plenty to smile about on Saturday when the octogenarian couple married at St Margaret’s Church, Rainham.

The couple met at the Age Concern Centre in Woodlands Road, Gillingham, and love between them blossomed on a day trip to Eastbourne. They have been courting for three years.

They are the oldest couple wed by The Rev Ren Harding, and are planning a honeymoon in Norfolk next month.
