New Brompton Academy?

A letter has gone home to parents of students at New Brompton College announcing a proposal to turn the school into an academy.

This is the third proposed academy in the Medway Towns. From next September, Chapter School and Temple School will be merged into an academy on the site currently occupied by Chapter, despite fierce opposition from parents. Medway Community College and Chatham South School are also in the process of merging into an academy.

The University of Kent has submitted and Expression of Interest to the Department for Children, Schools and Families and would become the primary sponsor of the subsequent academy. Medway Council would co-sponsor the academy.
