David Cameron meets party members in Medway

I am currently at Lordswood Social Club having just met David Cameron.
Mr Cameron, the Leader of the Conservative Party, was here meeting members of the party from the three Medway constituencies, before heading off to a Cameron Direct event in Chatham.
Update @ 23:30
Over 100 people (rough estimate) were present at the event organised by Chatham and Aylesford Conservatives. Among those present were several local councillors and the three Medway Parliamentary Candidates, Rehman Chishti (Gillingham and Rainham), Tracey Crouch (Chatham and Aylesford) and Mark Reckless (Rochester and Strood).
Mr Cameron went round and spoke to everyone in the room before briefly addressing everyone collectively. Even whilst still sounding slightly hoarse (anyone who had seen him on Andrew Marr yesterday morning (video/transcript) will know what I am talking about), Mr Cameron spoke confidently in a display which boded well for his subsequent Cameron Direct event.
Update @ 23:36
It appears that Iain Dale was at the Cameron Direct event, live-blogging it here. His report is here and Tracey’s is here. I shall link to the webcast as soon as it is made available.

A selection of photographs have now been uploaded to my Flickr account, in the photo set “David Cameron Visit“. They are also embedded in a slideshow below.

Was this posted from the “Cracked-berry”? Itr was a good event, despite Cameron’s hoarseness(!)
An absolute pleaseure meeting you Alan. Will have to get together for a drink sometime.
And a great pic as well. ATB Alan.
John – yes, this was posted from my damaged BlackBerry. It was a good event, even if Cameron kept his remarks short.
Chris – You too. I’m sure it can be arranged.
Great photos Alan, keep up the good work.
Regards
Ted
I have today sent a thank you message to Dave, mentioning (in dispatches!) the rising stars who are Alan Collins and Chris Irvine as “names to watch”.
Because of my duties as photographer, I didn’t get to meet Dave directly myself, but was content to miss out for the sakes of those others, and for my friend Adelaide, whose photo by Alan I have posted (with attribution) on my own ‘blog.
Alan, just to say thanks again for getting that picture for me. Very much appreciated.
And John, I agree on Alan being a “name to watch”. Not so sure about me though, unless you mean “name to watch and make sure he doesn’t get anywhere near Cameron again”?
Oh, ha ha!
I think you both have tremendous potential, actually, and as you both live in areas with only Labour councillors at present, there are clearly challenges that you could both feel need to be faced.
I foresee interesting times ahead!
You’re really hob-nobbing it now Alan, aren’t you?
Nice one getting to meet him though.
