Follow Medway Council … on Twitter

Medway Council has moved another step forward in terms of using technology to communicate with residents.

As from February, it would appear, Medway Council has been active on Twitter, a micro-blogging service used by many people and organisations from Barack Obama and the Prime Minister to myself and indeed anyone with time on their hands and something to say.

Medway Council?s Deputy Leader Cllr Alan Jarrett said: ?It?s important the council provides information to residents in a way that suits them – that?s why we have set up this new service on Twitter to help us keep in touch with Medway?s residents.

?The council continues to respond to developments in communications innovation; we already have a presence on sites including Facebook and MySpace. Twitter is another tool to ensure we continue to communicate with residents, while helping put Medway on the map by spreading information about news and events to a wider audience.?
