Eastcourt Lane lights back on
Residents were today happy that broken street lights in Eastcourt Lane have been fixed.
Most of the lights in Eastcourt Lane have been repaired and were last night glowing for the first time in weeks.
A couple of lights were still out last night, but EDF are on-site again today, apparently fixing the rest of the lights.
Talking of the path Medway Council took in dealing with this affair, one resident said, ‘the biggest hurdle is actually getting Medway Council to accept there is a problem’.
After being contacted by residents with concerns over the lighting, this author highlighted them on this website and reiterated their concerns to Medway Councillors.
If you have any similar problems, I am always willing to help. Just drop me an email at alan@alanwcollins.co.uk with the details and I shall see if and how I can help.

Good news! Long road, that, I see from my Medway-wide electronic road map?
Just for info: I have never had a great problem reporting and having street lights fixed. I once had to report one in twice, as it hadn’t been done within the allotted time frame (though I found out that there was a particular reason for that occasion), but otherwise they have all been done within days of my reporting them.
I can’t help wondering what the problem was on this occasion.
John – I think a lot of angry residents are wondering the same thing…
Yes ,we didn’t think it would be that difficult for Medway Council to get some streetlights fixed but true to form Medway Council made it as difficult as possible.
After weeks of reporting the problem with no action the person in charge told us the problem had been fixed and when we told him it certainly had not been fixed he told us he had personally driven up the road and checked for himself!!
Local residents are getting quite used to Medway Council denying that a problem exists.
