LW: Lib Dems select their candidate
The Medway Lib Dems have announced their by-election candidate, becoming only the second party to do so.
Thirty-three year-old Gary Allanach of Magpie Hall Road is to fight the by-election for the Liberal Democrats. According to the newspaper Yourmedway, Labour will be choosing their candidate on Friday.
Mr Allanach believes people are fed up with the Conservative administration of Medway Council, and that ‘Labour is a lost cause nationally and locally’.
The British National Party and the UK Independence Party have both confirmed that they will be fielding candidates, although neither have yet made public who they will be.
