Moving forward
AlanWCollins has continuously undergone changes – major and minor – since this weblog was introduced.
The latest change for the site is the introduction, as much as I wish it could have been avoided, of displaying Google Ads.
Friends and followers of my Twitter feed will have realised by now that I am obsessed with Google, and would be in their corner any day of the week in an ultimate Google vs. Microsoft fight.
However, the advertisements are necessary to support this weblog – at least for the time being. Not so long ago, I was able to advertise this site on Google and bring in extra readers.
Now, with less time to publish and less people visiting, I have been forced to try everything I can to support this weblog financially.
I have big plans for?AlanWCollins and, in particular,?TwydallNews, but at the moment, the emphasis is on surviving.

Well you could always try writing something worth reading. That’s always a good start. I hear there’s a 99p store opening tomorrow somewhere, why not go and report on that?
Thank you for your comment, Ellen.
The problem as pointed out in the post above is not what I am writing/have written, it is getting the time to write extra posts. At any one time I have anywhere between two and ten potential posts in my head, and many of them even reach the paper drafting stage (whilst I am not near a computer/BlackBerry).
However, there is seldom time to finalise the posts, or indeed write anything at all, let alone provide enough variety to cater for all readers.
If people don’t like what they read, then they don’t have to visit – it’s entirely their choice. I do provide content which interests me, in the knowledge that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are also interested in what I write.
That is precisely what a weblog is about, and a definition that has worked well for Alan W Collins for nearly three years.
