Rainham Councillors’ Parkwood Community Centre cheque
Councillors in Rainham have presented the Parkwood Community Centre with a cheque for ?32,000.
The councillors, all from Medway Council’s Conservative Group, presented the cheque to the centre on Thursday (19th November) to top up their fundraising efforts.
The centre was trying to raise money to expand the hall, to cope with the growing demands of the community, but would not have secured a National Lottery grant if they had not raised the last ?32,000.
Councillors at the presentation included those from Rainham Central, Rainham North and the Mayor of Medway, Councillor David Royle.
On their website, Rainham Central councillors said that they were “extremely pleased to have been able to assist in this way, to assist what is a valuable community asset”.
