Alan W Collins is a Conservative Party member and activist, and independent blogger and campaigner.

Born in 1990, Alan grew up first in Gillingham, then in Rainham, attending Meredale Infants School and St Margaret’s Junior School, before moving to Twydall in 2000 and attending Rainham Mark Grammar School from 2001.

Having achieved 9 GCSEs at A* to C and 4 A-levels at A to C, Alan started as a Law undergraduate at the University of Kent’s Medway campus in 2008, where he remains to date.

An active political campaigner, Alan supported the three Conservative candidates in Rainham Central during the 2007 local elections and the Rochester and Strood candidate at the 2010 general election. He has also launched independent campaigns, including the experimental survey regarding car parking charges in Medway.

Alan spent six-and-a-half years as a member of the Air Training Corps, working his way up to the highest rank of Cadet Warrant Officer. Since leaving, he has continued his involvement as a member of the civilian committee at his former squadron, 1039 (Gillingham).

His continued support for the armed forces has also led to his memberships and support of the Royal Air Forces Association and the Royal British Legion.

Alan started his working life for a season at Priestfield Stadium, followed by fourteen months at The Co-operative Food in Twydall Green, during which time he took up membership of the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (USDAW).

After leaving the Co-operative Food, Alan spent a few months at Dakers Marriott Solicitors in Rochester, expanding his experience from his university course, before starting work at Graham Colley Solicitor, also in Rochester, in February 2010, where he now spends most of his time working on wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
