A Conservative campaign to save Capstone Valley, supported by by-election candidate Tashi Bhutia, has reached 20,000 members.
The campaign, organised by Chatham Conservatives, aims to protect Capstone Valley from the building of 9,200 houses.

Chatham Conservatives have unanimously selected Tashi Bhutia, a former member of the Brigade of Ghurkas, as their candidate for the forthcoming by election in Luton and Wayfield.

Two of Medway’s Labour MPs have voted against full support for the Gurkhas.
Labour MPs Paul Clark (Gillingham & Rainham) and Jonathan Shaw (Chatham & Aylesford) both voted against the Lib Dem-introduced motion supporting the Gurkhas, backed also by the Conservative Party.
